In a significant initiative, Catholic Education Arizona has awarded tuition scholarships to 4,100 students attending Catholic schools within the Diocese of Phoenix this September. Among these scholarships, 140 were specifically designated for students with disabilities, and 18 were allocated to students currently in the foster care system, funded through the Arizona Disabled/Displaced Corporate Tax Credit program.
This funding, made possible by both Arizona Individual and Corporate tax credits, opens doors for countless students who may not have had access to a Catholic education otherwise. Nancy Padberg, the president and CEO of Catholic Education Arizona, emphasized the transformative impact of these scholarships. “Education scholarships for students in grades K–12 are truly life-changing and community-transforming,” she stated. Padberg further highlighted the organization's commitment to ensuring that every family has the opportunity to select an educational path that best meets their children's unique needs, reinforcing the belief that education is a fundamental right for all.
