KINGSTON, R.I. – Oct. 2, 2025 – The University of Rhode Island's 2025 Honors Colloquium will feature a thought-provoking lecture by Indigenous education leader Heather J. Shotton. Scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 7, the presentation titled “Becoming Indigenous-Serving Institutions” will delve into the critical role that higher education can play in serving Indigenous communities.
Shotton's discussion aims to shed light on the necessary transformations that universities must undergo to genuinely support and uplift Indigenous students and cultures.
