FSU Vice President for Student Affairs earns Fulbright International Education Administrators Award

Florida State University Vice President for Student Affairs Amy Hecht has been selected for a Fulbright International Education Administrators Award, a recognition that will send her abroad to study higher education systems in another country.

The award, part of the Fulbright program's specialized track for university administrators, allows recipients to engage directly with international peers and explore best practices in student services and campus life. Hecht will travel to South Korea as part of the program, where she will visit universities and meet with education leaders to examine how institutions abroad support student success and well-being.

Hecht, who has served as FSU's vice president for student affairs since 2018, oversees a wide range of student services including housing, health and wellness, and campus engagement. In a statement, she said the experience will help bring new perspectives back to Florida State, particularly in how the university can better serve a diverse and growing student body.

The Fulbright IEA Award is designed for senior higher education officials who shape policy and strategy at their institutions. It emphasizes cross-cultural exchange and the sharing of administrative approaches. Hecht is one of a select group of administrators nationwide chosen for the program this year. Her trip is expected to take place in the coming months.
