AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has made significant appointments to enhance student representation in Texas higher education. Effective June 1, 2025, the Governor has appointed eight student regents to various universities across the state. These appointments are set to expire on May 31, 2026, allowing these student leaders to engage in critical discussions and decisions that affect their respective institutions.
In addition to the student regents, a student representative has also been appointed to serve on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
