The New Hampshire Department of Education has announced the selection of 11 semifinalists for the state’s prestigious Teacher of the Year award, recognizing exceptional educators from Manchester, Derry, Hollis, Concord, and five additional school districts. These teachers were chosen from a competitive pool of nominees based on their demonstrated commitment to student success, innovative teaching practices, and positive impact within their school communities.
The semifinalists represent a diverse range of grade levels and subject areas, including elementary classroom teachers, special education instructors, and high school STEM educators. Each candidate submitted a comprehensive application detailing their teaching philosophy, classroom strategies, and contributions to professional development. A panel of educators, administrators, and community leaders reviewed the applications to identify the most outstanding candidates.
“These semifinalists embody the dedication and creativity that define New Hampshire’s finest educators,” said a state education official. “Their work goes beyond lesson plans—they inspire students, collaborate with colleagues, and strengthen the fabric of their communities.”
The next phase of the selection process will involve classroom observations and interviews with the semifinalists. From this group, a smaller set of finalists will be named in the coming weeks, leading to the announcement of the 2025 New Hampshire Teacher of the Year. The winner will go on to represent the state in the National Teacher of the Year program. The award highlights the critical role teachers play in shaping future generations and underscores the state’s commitment to educational excellence.
