Naomi Mann Leads BU Law’s Growing Experiential Education Program as the New Associate Dean

Boston University School of Law has seen its practical training offerings grow significantly over the last three years, and now a familiar face is stepping in to guide that momentum. Naomi Mann has been named the new Associate Dean for Experiential Education, taking over a program that has added clinics and practicums in areas as varied as consumer economic justice, appellate litigation, prisoner education, and reproductive rights.

Mann, who has been a clinical professor at the law school, brings a deep background in both teaching and advocacy to the role. Her work has focused on family law and the intersection of domestic violence and immigration, and she has long pushed for students to learn by doing rather than just reading casebooks. In her new position, she will oversee the school's clinical programs, externships, and simulation courses, while also working to expand faculty development for those who teach in these hands-on settings.

The timing is notable. BU Law has deliberately invested in experiential education as a core part of its curriculum, responding to both student demand and the realities of a legal job market that values practical skills.
