Kentucky Students Discover Agriculture Education Week

(FRANKFORT, KY) – Members of the Kentucky Department of Education’s Commissioner’s Student Advisory Council gathered on February 25 to explore the significance of the inaugural statewide Agriculture Education Week, scheduled for March 17-21. This initiative aims to promote awareness and appreciation of agricultural education across the state.

During the meeting, students engaged in discussions about the importance of agriculture in Kentucky's economy and culture. They learned how agricultural education can empower young people with the skills and knowledge necessary for careers in farming, agribusiness, and related fields. The council emphasized the role of education in fostering a new generation of leaders in agriculture, highlighting the diverse opportunities available to students interested in this vital sector.

By celebrating Agriculture Education Week, the Kentucky Department of Education hopes to inspire students to consider careers in agriculture and to understand its impact on their communities. The event aims to encourage schools to incorporate agricultural education into their curricula, fostering a deeper connection between students and the agricultural industry.
