TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Vigo County School Corporation held its Adult Education graduation on Wednesday evening at the Learning Lab, recognizing the hard work and perseverance of its graduates. The ceremony brought together students, instructors, and family members to celebrate a milestone that many of the graduates worked toward while balancing jobs, family responsibilities, and other life commitments.
The event highlighted the importance of second chances and lifelong learning. For many of the adult learners, earning a diploma or completing a high school equivalency program represented more than just a piece of paper. It opened doors to better employment opportunities, higher education, and personal growth. Several graduates shared brief remarks about their journeys, thanking instructors and support staff who helped them stay on track.
The Learning Lab, which serves as a hub for adult education in the county, provides flexible scheduling and personalized instruction. Program coordinators noted that the graduation rate has remained steady, with many students continuing on to vocational training or college courses. The ceremony concluded with a reception, where graduates posed for photos and celebrated with loved ones. The Vigo County School Corporation plans to continue expanding adult education services to reach more residents seeking to complete their education.
